A truly unique exhibition from the Pilbara Region in Western Australia.
A small group of relatively unknown artists from one of the remote regions of Australia will be featured in the worlds centre of art and culture Florence, during the 2006 annual multi cultural festival.
The exhibition will take place in the Palagio de Parte Guelfa, one of Florence's most remarkable buildings.
The event will be the first time an exhibition of Pilbara culture has
ever been seen outside Australia.
For more information about the art and artists contact the Shire of Roebourne.

The very day after the excitement of the Press Conference and their private tour of the Palazzo Vecchio, the crew went on a trip to Florence to nearby Pisa. The sun came out to welcome the crew and they had a magnificent time coming face to face with one of the world's wonders. Marine James was particularly excited as she had dreamt of seeing the Leaning Tower since she was a child. At breakfast she announced "'today's the day my dream comes true" - and it did.
While the Leaning Tower certainly delighted the team, the Cathedral alongside the tower got rave reviews. With eyes wide open they told the stories of the breathtaking Cathedral with the ornate 24ct gold ceiling.
The entire travelling party was quite overwhelmed - not only by the grandiose beauty of the Cathedral and Tower in Pisa, but by the African Hawkers trying to sell trinkets to the group. Certainly in their wildest dreams I don't think any of the crew had imagined a 24ct gold ceiling!.
The crew came back beaming!
